CorkCrafter AI — website and mobile app

Last updated: October 29, 2026.

This policy describes the information CorkCrafter AI processes when you manage your wine collection, use Ask Corky, scan wine labels, or use social features.

On this page

1. Information we collect

Account and wine collection

Account information includes the email address, name, username, and other profile details you provide, such as a phone number. Cellar information includes wine identities, quantities, ratings, favorites, and tasting notes. Subscription processing involves payment-provider and subscription records; Stripe handles card payments rather than CorkCrafter storing card numbers.

Voice and microphone data

If you choose Ask Corky’s voice feature, the app uses your microphone to capture your spoken question. Audio is sent to OpenAI for transcription. The transcribed question can then be processed like a typed question, together with relevant cellar information and recent conversation context. When a spoken reply is requested, response text is sent for speech generation.

Camera and wine-label photos

If you choose Scan, the app uses your camera to capture a wine-label image. The image is sent to Anthropic for recognition to help extract the winery, varietal, vintage, and region. Wine details you choose to save become part of your cellar.

Corky conversations and usage

Questions, recent messages supplied by the app, and relevant cellar details are sent to OpenAI to generate Corky’s response. Cellar context can include wine names, vintages, regions, quantities, favorites, ratings, and tasting notes. Usage records can also identify an interaction, its user, and the feature or channel used.

Social and technical information

Social features process friend and follow relationships, shared activities, comments, and direct messages. Technical information can include IP address, browser or device details, authentication identifiers, and operational logs.

2. How we use information

We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

3. Service providers and information sent

Provider processing and retention depend on the applicable service, contractual terms, and account settings. Deleting information from CorkCrafter does not establish that every processor deletes its own records at the same instant.

4. Friends, activity, and messages

Social features can show your display name and shared activities to connected users. Where a display name is absent, your email address may be used as your displayed name. Shared activity can include wine identities, ratings, and tasting-note previews. Comments are visible to users permitted to view the associated activity. Direct messages are made available to their participants.

5. Storage and security

CorkCrafter uses hosting and processing services to operate the website and app. Information is processed on your device, on our hosting infrastructure, and by the service providers identified above as needed for the features you use. Those providers may process information in locations governed by their service terms and applicable settings. Permissions and authentication help control access to account features.

6. Cookies, browser storage, and analytics

Authentication can use session identifiers and browser storage. The website and mobile app may handle local session and conversation information differently. Some website pages use Google Analytics to understand website usage; this can involve page activity, browser or device information, and online identifiers. See Google’s Privacy Policy. Browser settings can limit cookies and local storage, which may affect sign-in and other functionality.

7. Retention and deletion

Account and saved cellar information are retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, your account data is removed within 30 days.

Voice recordings and wine-label images are transmitted for the processing described above. Conversation text and relevant cellar context are processed to answer questions; recent messages can also be supplied by the app for follow-up questions. Account-linked interaction metadata can be recorded separately from conversation text.

Processing by third-party providers is subject to their retention rules and the applicable account settings. The account-deletion window above does not guarantee immediate deletion of audio, images, transcripts, technical logs, backups, or service-provider records. For a request concerning these records, contact support@corkcrafterai.com so we can address the particular data and processing involved.

8. Your choices and privacy requests

You can manage camera and microphone permissions in device settings. Disabling a permission affects features that require it. Contact support@corkcrafterai.com to request access, account deletion, or collection export, or to ask about privacy choices. Available rights depend on applicable law; we may need to verify your identity to handle a request.

9. Age requirements

CorkCrafter is intended for adults age 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

10. Policy updates

We will update the revision date on this page when the policy changes. We will notify registered users of material changes by email with 30 days’ notice.
